Kathy Foust has been working in the mental health field for over 25 years and opened her private practice in March of 2000.  She started her career as a teacher in Findlay City Schools, where she taught for 17 years. After completing her Masters in counseling at Bowling Green State University and Heidelberg College, she received her professional clinical counselor license.

Marriage and family is extremely important to her. She and Dan have been married for over 30 years and he serves as the business manager at Lighthouse Counseling Services. They love spending time with their children, five grandchildren and large extended family. Kathy is an active member of Gateway Church where she loves to connect with people and serve on several teams. Her hobbies include gardening, bird watching, cooking, reading, walking, cycling and walking on the beach.

Kathy accepts clients age 13 through adults and has extensive experience working with couples, including issues of infidelity and sexual addictions.  She counsels individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, divorce, grief and eating disorders. She also counsels and gives support to patients through Cancer Patient Services serving Hancock County.

Kathy is passionate about helping others “find a light in the storm.”  Her counseling approach is caring and respectful of individual needs. She will help guide you, teach you therapeutic techniques and help you uncover the root cause of your symptoms so healing can take place.  She also offers faith based counseling which gives spiritual hope to many who struggle with life’s challenges.
